Courtney D. Jackson has a career that spans over 20 years in wide variety of human services and educational settings. Courtney’s vision for her professional career was clear incredibly early on in her life. Courtney’s passion for working with people is the driving force behind Misfit Heroes Inc. Courtney has used her professional and academic experiences to develop community programs that foster growth and autonomy. Courtney has navigated her way through various experiences that led her to work within the unique niche of consulting within the educational and human services profession.
Courtney was Educated at the Kutztown University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. It was during her years at Kutztown University that her love for healthy human development began. In recognizing that she wanted to be more effective in her career path she decided to further her education at a higher level. She is currently working towards a Master’s Degree in Human Services with a concentration on Child and Family Counseling at Liberty University in Lynchburg, Va. Courtney also continues to grow in knowledge by attending various trainings related to the human services and education profession.
Courtney began her career as a volunteer at Macedonia Baptist Church’s nursery program and summer camp. This experience led to what would become her passion professionally and personally. She began her professional career at 16 years of age at New Life Child and Family Development Center where she was able to work her way up over several years to Interim Director. Courtney was able to increase enrollment in a short period of time by creating a child friendly, educational atmosphere. Courtney has worked as a personal care assistant at the Pathway School where she worked with students with mental and behavioral diagnosis. Courtney also, worked as a social worker with Open Door Int, LLC. Courtney worked with parents in Montgomery and Bucks County to meet goals to be reunited with their children. Courtney also facilitated parent and child visitation, providing feedback to parents about areas of strength and growth. Courtney later served as Director of St. Francis Early Learning Center. Courtney accepted the position during a period when the center did not have a certificate of compliance due to many personnel issues. Courtney was able to take the struggling center from the brink of closure to full compliance according to the Department of Human Services Regulations in Pa. Courtney currently works as a consultant and relational coach with Living Strong LLC. She is using her plethora of working experiences and education to assist other educators and human service professionals to grow and adapt in an ever-evolving field. Her expertise as and educator, supervisor, social worker, and behavioral heal worker, make her a highly sought-after consultant in related fields.
